Can whitetail deer transmit chronic wasting disease to horses?

I keep bales of hay out by my pastures to make my chores easier, and I know that our local deer eat from the bales at times. So I'm wondering since the chronic wasting disease is transmitted to other deer via saliva, if that disease is transmittable to horses as well.

"It is not known to be contagious to livestock or humans."

Thanks. Apparently they don't have any further info that says anything different.

Our deer follow me when I have my horses' grain containers....they are almost like pets at our house.

I wondered about that too, because I have seen quite a few sick deer. The owners of the property have been clearcutting the woods behind the property I rent, and we have been overrun with deer. They go in the barn, poop on our patio, etc. And now we have a problem with coyotes (I had one kill a cat), so I need to get a gun.
