OK So we decided to go and get a bucket calf and ended up bringing home 3. They are the cutest things, anyone have any suggestions or pointers on feeding them? Any major do's or don'ts? I will get pics put up first thing in the morning, have to upload them yet and don't have time, but thought I would get the post started. ;)

    Cute lil cows!

So, at the risk of sounding like a complete buctard, what the hell is a bucket calf?

Usually dairy breed calves, taken from Mom when they are 2 or 3 days old. They have to be bottle or bucket fed milk for a while yet. The holsteins, black and white ones are 6 days old, and the brown swiss is 5 weeks old. They are fun though.

:-[ I was thinking a "bucket calf" meant it was a baby of a miniature breed.

I wish they were, but can't find any for that, well none that I can afford anyhow! These three have the wrong "equipment" to milk. 8) ;)
