Had Foal#2 for my owners last night. A big, strapping, full brother to Prince Emminence (spectacular 2 yr old I have in). God love Calaqueen, she started foaling at 7pm. She had a filly last year at 7:30pm. Colt took awhile to nurse, but that isn't unusual for really tall foals, and he was 40" tall at birth. Poor mare is only about 15.1-.2 Hh. I kept looking from him to her saying "I cannot believe this just came out of that!"

IgG good this morning and all is well :). If you all are very nice I will attempt to have some pics tomorrow. Regardless of your dispositions you are SOL tonight, I'm afraid.

Well, the tentative name on this little guy is going to be Herald The Prince (out of a Prince of Fame mare) because the owners of a nearby farm and her son, and my assistant, plus the owners were all clustered around the stall to "herald" his arrival . Sadly, as hard as we tried, we could not find a "Wise Man" amongst us :p, but still like the name. We are calling him Herald (which sounds just like Harold, making the colt's awesome brother's groom - Harold - quite proud of himself 8) ). See, only 2 foals into this and we are getting punchy.

Next 2 mares, Liahonna and Flame Fox are imminent. I have been expecting The Call every night since Friday, which makes for light sleep and weird dreams! These 2 better pop soon (like tonight, hint hint ) or there's no telling what types of monikers their foals will get saddled with!

Love it! Had a call from a friend that was sleeping in her barn on foal watch. She was curled up in her sleeping bag on the bales of hay only to feel something on her legs. She turned on her pen light to see a coon crawling onto her legs. Talk about screams.... Looking forward to pictures of the next babies.

Ummm, yeah, eewwwwww! This would be why, if one is not foal watching on TV mmonitors from the comfort of a couch, a dog is a necessary foal watching accessory!!

I keep coming back and looking at the pic and thinking "I cannot believe that baby and those LEGS were inside of that mare!".

Well, Liahonna foaled about 2:30a.m. Nice, big, kinda dumb colt. She seems to be a bit of a twitty Mom, but we got it all done. I could swear her bff Flame Fox was going to foal an hourlater, but she settled down and I came home for a quick shower.

Now that I am waiting for Cassidy to gte dressed I thought I would be really, really nice and post y'all a picture before nightfall, when I usually get to the computer.

Well, by today, day 2, she is more settled. He started off kinda dumb, not sure he'll ever be MENSA material, but as long as he can run fast and make sweeping left hand turns he'll have a job

Well, after 10 days of waxing, 7 days of leaking mik intermitently, and off and on "pre-labor" for a week, Flame Fox finally foaled at 4:30a.m. this morning :th_sleeping-smiley-015:. Nifty ProPrado colt! He is definately going to be gray (from his Daddy). His face marking are my absolute favorite ;D

Had number 5 @ 1:20 this morning. Tall filly who is pretty down on her pasterns up front, so looks rather icky at the moment. Eh, I've been at this long enough to withhold fina ljudgement for a few weeks. Her mom is an idiot. Just a fidgety, stall walking heifer. We hoped the mare would settle down when she got in foal nd became a broodmare. She isn't a raving lunatic, but not real settled, either. She is going on the "Cull" list.
