I just joined up . . .been kinda interesting how it works.
I pretty much dismiss all the offers I get in my email-kids clothes, electronics, etc., but snaffle has gotten a few neat things. I got a couple really nice doors to go in my barn when we redo it.
I've gotten rid of an ugly table and chairs...and an old desk.
I love it because I can't stand throwing things away.
I'm a HUGE thrower-outer, but most of what I have tossed has been JUNK that has been laying around the farm for that past 30 years.
Love, love LOVE Freecycle!
RR~ what have you found off of there. Seems to be alot of baby crap . . .
I check it---- you can sometimes find some items you can actually use
Well, we got a bunch of sheets of plywood, that we used to line the goat's shed. We got the wood from a guy who was tearing out his deck. Wood was still in excellent condition. We rebuilt the deck, power washed and stained it and voila. . . new deck. . .little bitty cost.
We got a beautiful wood swing set. Hubby got a circular saw. Some of the best stuff is stuff that I've gotten rid of and would have had to pay to haul away otherwise! ;D
I love Freecycle, been using it for years. Since I use pelleted bedding, my manure pile breaks down very quickly and produces the most beautiful compost...I put a post up for free compost and had a couple people come with their trucks and fill up! Gotta love it
Ohhh neat idea . . .I will have to post that for next weekend.
