I am looking to add a few colored laying hens to my flock. Aside from ordering chicks from a hatchery...I can't find any. Purebred or mixed ok-just have to be decent egg layer. Would consider local pick up of unsexed chicks or fertile eggs to incubate.

What would you like . . .chicks or eggs? Btw there is no way to garuntee fertility. We have eggs for $3.00 each or chicks for $7.00. I can also see if there will any ladies retiring from our farm this year.

I have 3 Americauna's and they are my best layers. YOu won't be disappointed but they are not the friendliest birds. Mine lay greenish eggs.

They are very active birds and great free range birds. They tend to do very well on little extra feed ;)

I've got 11 hens and 1 rooster------ bought as chicks, waiting patiently for them to start laying. Should be soon, I hope

You are more then welcome!! The birds were my hubbys idea~
We have to make them a secure outside run area though where they'll be safe----We have a resident hawk that comes by and sits on fenceposts. Even our cats are extra careful when he is in the area.

I will have plenty of eggs available~
