MY Wheaton Terrier gets little bumps occasionally on her body. They are usually small and then when we pop them a little clear fluid or pus comes out (Like a pimple)

Airrie has had a larger bump on her side for over a few months now, it is about the size of a quarter. The other day it popped and a little blood and pus came out. My daughter was cleaning it and putting triple antibiotic on it.

Today she squeezed it to clean it out and a little white thing came out. We kept on squezing it and all of these little things came out. They remind me of bot eggs on a horse. Sometimes when you squeeze you can feel them pop. I am wondering if they are some type of parasite. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

I am waiting for the vet to reopen to take her in.

Its a cyst. You have it cleaned out now, it should dry up. My dog get them to. Clip the hair around it so it stays dry.

Ok - I just want to let you know that this thread has me on the verge of puking!

I am on strong antibiotics, that make my stomach way upset - but I have been able to control the vomiting.......until now..............

I'd definitely call the vet and ask - if is it just a cyst. they will be able to tell you how to clean them properly.

    But, ya.................. :th_puke:

LOL It is kinda creepy. I am all itchy after cleaninging it out

I was thinking it was a cyst, I have seen them before. It was more like cottage cheese though. This is hard like little meal worms.

Is the pup running a temp?
Did you keep the "stuff" you collected?
It might help the vet to make sure it is not bacterial.
    Good luck.

Tbitt, no she is still running around like nothing is wrong. It doesn't seem to bother her, only when we push on it. I am sure that hurts.

Well, I have a 3 pm appointment today. This year is nothing but vet bills.

I kept sample of the little crunchy things to take to the vet. I don't know if she is running a temp but they area around the opening is red and

hot so it may be infected.

I just got back from the vet and it is cellulitis. He said it was a cyst that became infected. I forgot to take the little crunchy things. I described them to him and he asked me if they were moving, when I said no he said the white crunchy things were probably granulized pus. Yum, Yum

The vet said we could either do a 300 dollar surgery to remove the whole cyst and everything around it, or clean it daily and put her on twice a day antibiotics with a shot of penicllin today.

Needless to say I chose the oral antibiotcs and daily cleanings.

The vet said there is a chance the infection will reappear and if that happens she will need surgery. Please keep your fingers crossed she doesn't need surgery.
