Everyone else can call me one... I leave for the Bahamas tomorrow night and will be back next week. This is where we'll be staying http://www.atlantis.com/ We're actually staying at the same resort Michael Jordan stays at when he goes. Have fun while I'm gone!
I promise to take lots and lots of warm pictures with the NEW CAMERA the company gave us as a going on vacation gift!
Atlantis is cool--I went there in law school. There is a very cool aquarium that you walk through, that is part of the pool You will love it
It was okay. The weather was the coldest weather they have had in 58 years. It stayed in the mid 60's most of the time and really really windy (so more like mid 50's with wind chill). I braved it and wore shorts one day. Eric never put shorts on. Even with jeans (which I bought while down there) and a pullover on it was chilly. This resort was designed and built to model Atlantis. They have the biggest salt water aquarium in the world. The other big thing they have is water, pools, pools, pools, water slides, a lazy river, a current pool... It was just too cold to do any of that. That's about all they had though so we repeatedly went and looked at the fish...repeatedly. They also had a casino. I didn't win any money but was able to play video poker and black jack for 1 1/2 hours on $20 so that kept me busy for a little while. Other than that, everything was extremely expensive! $20 for a hamburger. Just for a hamburger, no sides with it. We took one of Eric's customers out for dinner as a thank you one night. Eric got the grouper and french onion soup (I forget what side it came with). Doris and I each got the Petite Filet Mignon, Doris' side was potatoes and mine was asparagus. John got the rib eye and sauteed mushrooms. We each got iced tea. Our total was $312.00 for that one dinner. The four of us also ate at Johnny Rockets (kind of like a Steak & Shake). We each got a burger. John and Doris split an order of fries. I got an order of fries and Eric got an order of Onion Rings. 3 of us got a shake and 1 got a coke. $85.00. Alot of us were outclassed. We were there because Trisler paid for the airfare and the room but felt like the food was outrageously expensive (and I thought the food back home was better tasting.) I don't know, I guess it was alright. We did alot of relaxing on this trip. We didn't do a whole lot of anything - which we needed. I do know I won't be interested in going back. I do have pictures but they were taken on a new camera and I'm having a hard time getting the program to download onto my computer so I can show off the pictures. We're leaving for Louisville for the Farm Machinery Show sometime today and won't be back until SUnday night so it will probably be next week before I can show any of the pictures.
I just got back from St Thomas on Saturday night. We flew right over the bahamas. It was nice to come home to this warm weather!
Okay I got it working. I think I like my other camera better than this one.... Eric looking out to sea A face only a mother could love. This thing was HUGE! Amazing Fountain. This is what greeted us when we pulled up to the hotel. What a HUNK! Johnny Rockets - this was the cheapest place to eat and for 4 of us to eat burgers and fries it cost over $80 This is the suite Rodriguez stayed in right after the "ROIDS" thing came out A picture of our hotel Another view of our hotel One of the yachts docked right outside our window. The happy couple
