Most of you know what a rough time I have had with my mare in the past.
Today we did a flat lesson and we had the most wonderful, soft, rocking canter EVER.
I got down, watched her snuggle with my trainer and CRIED.
    (Doesn't help that I am pms-ing).
    I am just so happy.
    :D

    I totally understand.

I have also had some interesting time with my gelding - some my fault some his..........

But this past year Hubby and I were camping all by our selves..........we went out and I had the best ride. We never canter when we are with groups. Well this trip we decided to canter. My guy did the best slow collected Canter I have ever got out of him.

We were beaming when we got back to camp. We had the BEST time!

So, ya, I understand the joyfullness!!!

Congrats!!! Almost makes you forget all about them being such buttheads most of the time. Almost...... ;D

We all need those moments to remind us why do/give up so much for these animals. ;)

I had that happen one day with the mare I had. Although at the time I didn't understand it, I was so used to the way she normally was. Our BO watched and explained. But it only happened that once even though I kept trying to get it again.
But, the day I had that ride, it was only me and my daughter riding our horses in a very relaxed atmosphere in the arena. After that there were hay wagons and or tractors, skids in the arena, or things moved around on the other side of the short wall which was storage in the arena, I had a hell of a time keeping her attention from all the changes/monsters, then I moved her to another barn and we no longer had my daughter to ride Joe with. Things got worse with me in the saddle. On the ground we were best friends, she was like a loyal companion. I do miss her, and keep looking for her.
