My husband says the day for the digital tv change-over has been postponed until May.

    Is this correct?

I thought they were now leaving it up to the TV stations discretion...in other words...passing the digital buck.

Wonderful!! ::) I just paid a technician $65 :eek:to come to the house and connect my converter boxes and set up the tv's because I was having a doozey of a time!!

I would not have needed a converter box for my kitchen tv because it is a newer one and gets digital channels. BUT since I have a vcr connected to it so I can tape shows or watch taped shows.. I needed the converter box.

I had tried 5 or 6 different times to connect that blasted box and could never get reception. I bought zillions of wires.

It was worth the $65. ;D

Where did you find such a service person Snaffle?

That is worth it not to get aggravated, I'm not a technical person and have a terrible time reading the instructions that come with electronics

MTD I called a tv repair man from one of the itty bitty country towns.
(they dont even have a stop light!!)

I had him work on a tv about 20 years ago.

He said he has been very busy doing antenna work..
    and helping people with converters.

    An interesting thing..
the owners manual told me to buy connector wires, which I did.
He didnt have to use them. He only used the antenna connector cable which was included with the converter.

Then he pushed "settings" on the remote and did some scanning and a couple other things.

I certainly SHOULD have been able to do that.. :-
