Anyone have any recommendations for good eye protection for an aged appy?
I know a couple of the fly masks on the market claim 70% and 80% UV blocking capabilities.
    Any other options?
Is there such a thing as a racing type hood with tinted full cups that would have a UV rating?

Pelling Pacifier has a plastic cup over the enitre eye. I have seen them tinited green. I do not know if they come in other colors or if they have any UV protection.

    They are expensive!!!!

Alot of places show them with the screens and not the plastic cups. Most places will special order them with the plactic cups.
From the little reading I have done on eye protection (UV) for horses eyes, it says that the screens will help too.
Monte Roberts has one on his web site.
I think that BigDees has them too.
Let me post some websites to get you started.

Big Dees is WAY cheaper, but I would inquire about the UV protection if that is something that is a must.

    I hope this helps.

ET, Friend just lost her aged appy to Uveitis, she made masks that worked great, she used a racing hood & made eye cups out of a special fabric she got from an outdoor furniture company.

I know she would happily sell or make your client a mask or two, her hubby lost his job yesterday as well.

Big plus, she is here in Woodstock

    OOOOH!

Cost (regular horse size) and what is the UV rating on the material?
I found a couple fly masks online that offer a UV rating.
One claims 80% and one 70%.
